I'm tempted to meet up with the locals. It would be nice to ride with some folks who know their way around. But 6pm is rather on the tight side, seeing that sunsets around 8:30pm now, if I'm going to average around 8-9 mph uphill to be realistic or on the safeside.

That ride only goes to the junction, which I'd bet is 45 min or less for a group like that. So they're back at Peet's by 7:30pm.
