I would drop the triple, 3rd crank useless unless you live in the Rockys or Alps. An upgrade to 105's (10 cassette) may be cheaper than you think. Most new bikes are going to 11 cassettes so the price has drop on the 10s. However you will run in to bigger money when it comes to new shifters that you will need when you do the upgrade. 10 speed 105 shifters will run you about $240 and add that to the drive train that will run you in the $150 range. Also have to take into account the cost of having the upgrade done at a bike shop. If you really like everything else about the bike it may be worth it but if you don't a new or used bike may be a better choice. I did an upgrade to my synapse because I plan on riding it for the next several years. Not sure about the spacers LBS would know.
