I like "everyday" bikes like you've acquired and enjoy refurbishing them and finding them new homes. Clean, fresh, serviced bikes of this sort with new rubber and cables can get $150. If you buy at$40, put $60 into it, and spend 100 hrs doing it, you have made $0.50 an hour. I'm happy with that and it keeps me busy in my spare time. I'm now sort of the neighborhood "bike guy" and one neighbor who is an accomplished potter pays me with her pottery for repairs to her hybrid.
