Bikes: Cervelo RS, Specialized Stumpjumper FSR Pro, Schwinn Typhoon, Nashbar touring, custom steel MTB

If you need pedals I'd look for wide, MTB "downhill" platform pedals. These pedals tend to be very wide and use replaceable steel pins to keep your foot from slipping off the pedal. Warning: if your foot does slip off the pedal, the steel pins will likely end up cutting deep grooves in your shin or calf! Examples of these pedals would include the Crank Brothers 5050, Speedplay Drillium, DMR V8, etc. I have a pair of Transition Stepdown pedals that I like, but it doesn't look like they're made anymore I would look for pedals with an aluminum platform; many of the cheapest examples use a polymer platform that likely won't stand up to abuse by a Clyde.

That said, I don't think I've ever had a creaking problem that was due to the pedals. Usually it's the bottom bracket, chain rings, crank arms, seatpost clamp, or saddle clamp. I'd check all of those things before buying new pedals.
