Back in the 70's cages were awesome and we talked about them with great love. Then we did catch a cage or strap on rocks and branches. No one was wearing helmets back then. Though MTBing was really in gear at that time, it was mainly cause for road rash. In the 90's cages and Fat Tires were everywhere. But it is the difference now between a rotary dial phone and voice dial phones. The advances in pedals are for a good reason.
