Which is harder- short, steep sections or longer climbs? I found out my answer.
I tried a 0.4 mile, 10% hill and quit about halfway in. My legs felt pretty good but I found the mental challenge of the same little road over and over just a little too much. I wasn't having fun out there.

I had to get the taste of failure out of my mouth, so I did Monitor Pass last weekend. That was 9.4 miles at 6%.

I don't think I'll do another one this year. Not in August, at least. I might change my mind by Fall. I definitely want to complete one on a short segment by this time next year.
