I bought the Brompfication clamps and they work fine IMO. Of course, I initially had them installed incorrectly so there was no difference in utility except looking sweet. I figured out my mistake a week later and now folding/unfolding is A LOT easier, since the clamps are consistently aligned all the time.
It's definitely a simple change that Brompton should apply in their next version.

How tight do I need them to be?
The OE clamps just need to be pushed tight with the pressure of one finger and they stay snug the for my whole ride... and once snug down the OE clamps seem to want to resist un tightening.
The aftermarket clamps and levers would seem to easily loosen (vs the oe) with just a little finger pressure even though they are snugged down more.
The ones I have aren't the Brompification ones however another one that has the same design
