Sunny, 66, little breeze from the west (side breeze). Legs felt a little sluggish at the start, but I ended up averaging a hair over 16 mph on the way in. Excellent commute this morning. Got a bit of a later start than usual. The GF was sick last night, went to bed early and I didn't get to pack last night because I didn't want to wake her. So I packed this morning.

I think I saw the kid who salmoned me the other night and scared the crap out of me. Guess what he was doing? Thankfully he was going the same direction as me, but was on the other shoulder, headed toward oncoming traffic. Then he makes a right hand turn, ALL the way across four lanes of traffic. It was that move that made me think it was him, and as I passed where he turned and looked, it looked like he had on the same hat and was wearing headphones again. Kid's going to get killed out there. He appears to be Hispanic and I wonder if he knows what the rules are.

Today I'm joining the 1,000 mile club. Kind of crazy to think about that. Last year I didn't start commuting until around this time, and only got in around 400 miles or so. Quite a difference a year makes. Unless I commute tomorrow, I'll be off until the second week of August. I've got some time off planned with my kids. Hopefully I'll get a few fun rides in here and there before they wake up in the mornings. And a few rides with them in the afternoons
