I got the swine flu a few years ago when that was going around. And that was seriously like one of the worst weeks of my life.

But tbh some of the worst pandemic's have a fatality rate of .003% or something (flu's and such). Considering this one has an average of about 50% right now. Yikes. Good news is it's less fatal if properly handled like it would be in first world countries. But it's never really made it here before. So how do we know? And also, some of the biggest researchers in the area on ebola have been killed. If it's not that dangerous and treatable, how did they get it and not live through it?

I'm sure it'll wisk away into the nothingness of news in a month or so though. It's only affected like 1,000 people or something. The normal seasonal flu kills like a million people a year or something, so at the scale it's at now, it's kind of laughably small.
