Back in high school we'd do a few loops through the graveyard to add on some distance to runs. I always viewed as less disrespectful, but more of a tribute to the dead. Bringing a little life into a lifeless, grave zone. If I recall correctly, someone called the school on us and was booty hurt that we'd run in a cemetery. We never ran fast. We'd just take in the sights.
Now in college running we have a morning run that turns around in the graveyard. We do the same loop and continue going with one of the regular loops as well. I don't really see how it is disrespectful unless you're shouting obscenities while a funeral is going on, or hammering through every turn and straight away.
If I recall correctly, a cyclist on this forum once got flipped off by a funeral procession after not stopping for them and then made a thread about it (he/she was on the other side of the road). Just make sure you don't ride through the cemetery when the folks from that procession are there.
