FWIW, you can install newer 9/10/11 speed freehub bodies on 8 speed Campagnolo hubs. I updated two 1996 Chorus rear hubs with 1997-1998 Record Titanium freehubs around 2000 when Campagnolo discontinued my favorite 8 cog cassette.

That'll help move you into this century while preserving the classic look.
