Aged tubulars get fewer flats. Decades ago, no smart racer who could afford it raced on fresh tires, you aged them for a year, the rubber gets a bit less tacky and harder, so they just flat less.
The may not be the best but I about a dozen Rally and yellow jersey tires on rims under my rack. Been there about 2 years now.
