Summer Sizzler charity ride started in New Hope, Alabama. It was the Summer Drizzler at the start but the rain wasn't too bad and it kept the temperature nice.
I signed on for the 75mile(120km) route which included a tough climb up Nat Mountain. The scenery here in east Madison- west Jackson counties is so nice, plenty of flat coves and valleys surrounded by low mountains.

I was going at a pretty good pace and decided to take a shortcut so I would have enough gas to get back home after making the climb loop. I skipped the smaller loop on the lower right of the map.
Here's the start of the climb:
and the elevation profile of the mountain climb and descent:

2.2 miles(3.5km) at an average of 7.9% but that 12% section seemed to go on forever.
I ended up doing 60miles (96km) at 15.2mph (24.3km).
