This could be the case. I had an aftermarket rotor on a bike that made a 'zzzzztz' sound that I could also feel when braking hard. It also squealed like a banshee in the wet,so I swapped it for a stock rotor and everything was fine.

Sometimes new brakes are a bit finicky and simply need some time to settle in, so if you don't find anything, give it a short while.
Also this. It could just be that the pads are wearing the edges on the rotor cutouts smooth.
