Well being runner also in my best days I could run 38 minute 10k but to run with the best runners it is genetics and I am sure with the bike it is much the same. Certainly training and groups make for the best but at some point it is about genetics. Frankly if I had cycled serious 25 years ago when I was running marathons I think I might have been better in comparison on than running, not sure but just a guess. Bottom line is that it is great to just ride and get a nice workout.
