And focusing on the best 200 cyclists on the planet who raced in the TdF this year, the freaks of nature reference is statistically sound. Of the millions that ride, that is the .000000000001% who ride at the world class level. Freaks of nature indeed. No different than the NBA, NFL, top swimmers, tennis players and 1 in a billion Rory Mcllroy who can consistently fly a golf ball 330 yards and land it in a narrow area time after time under a lot of pressure and he is only 5'9". An absolute freak of nature and talent is generally recognized early and developed from there.
