I have the medium. The Jalco wheelset is decent and I had mine rebuilt with double butted Swiss DT spokes. Still going strong after several years.
The 2006 model has a NLightened alloy frame with a carbon fork and the ride is sweet and compliant. It makes a good all-around commuter and the BB7 brakes with mechanical discs are very nice!
They're selling a few remaining closeout models. Don't be put off by their Taiwan origin. Good welds and a frame that lends itself to being upgraded. Original MSRP was $1200.
