hello all

wondering if it's possible to re-tap an older French headset (60's/70's Stronglight for example) to a 1" English thread? From what I gather the French 25mm x 1 is slightly smaller than the English 25.4mm, but beyond that I'm outta my league on this.

Anybody know if this has been done before? Maybe I'm better off just finding a vintage French headset already threaded for Italian/English? They seem a bit thin on the ground though.
