Bikes: Old-ass gearie hardtail MTB, fix-converted Centurion LeMans commuter, SS hardtail monster MTB

No idea as far as the history... But if you're looking for 110mm axles and stuff, BMX rear hubs use that spacing. Maybe there's some cross-compatibility there?
