It was. I think I underestimated what it was going to take. I discounted the distance because I did ok in Dirty Kanza last year. And I discounted the altitude because I've done ok riding road bikes in Colorado at that altitude.

Leadville was definitely harder than I gave it credit for.

Getting the stomach flu thursday before the race didn't help, but I'm not sure I would have gotten a belt even if I were 100%.

But if you never fail, you're not setting your goals high enough.
