Warranty question for you all...I have a bike that I need to take in for a warranty issue and I assume some of you have dealt with this in the past. If the bike is deemed appropriate for warranty, can the shop warranty with something on the shelf or do they have to go through the manufacturer for a new item? The warranty issue is a cracked fork on a Scott Foil.
My experience has been usually they have to go through the manufacturer. I have had a nice bike shop in the past replace that day and kept the replaced item when it came in, however that has not been the norm for me. I have not worked with Scott on an issue before though so not sure what their policy would be.
