hi,

i have a single speed and there is nothing i can do to adjust the tension of the chain.(modern carbon road frame vertical drop outs) i have had a look at the chain and i can see its going to snap. so i need a new chain as i dont want to be stranded

so i was thinking can i just put one of those tensioners on where the spindle goes through the back wheel or do i need a frame mounted one?

do i need it to push the chain up or down?

and lastly i have no idea what chain i have
