What I did just claim is that the lack of a pen-test makes helmets less safe - to what degree, other here are better informed.
But, for me anyway, when I do wear a helmet, when I know I’ll be riding in very sketchy traffic or fast downhills, I wear a hard shell skateboarder type. Might as well make it count.
As I've said, I'm a helmet nanny. I wear one every time I ride.
If you're donning a helmet to protect you from motor vehicles, it has been shown you are expecting much more than a bicycle or skateboard helmet is designed to deliver.
