For what it's worth, the American export 1972-73 PX-10s came through with Brooks Pro saddles, so you do have a precedent for going English.
I can't help you with the PKN-10, because my 1980 had an aftermarket saddle when I bought it. Congratulations on owning a PKN-10, which is one of my favorite road frames.
