I am almost positive that you should check the derailleur hanger and the drop relationship to one another. That is the beginning and everything else should be addressed, if the hanger proves square. As mentioned, the eyeball might not be accurate enough to ensure accuracy. Any bike shop will have the tool to check the alignment.
