Is that the one that has all the knobbies on it? If so i have it and use it on my glutes exclusively. It digs in nicely and loosens stuff up. For the rest of my legs I use a standard stiff foam roller. I notice it helps keep things loose. This really noticeable when I go for a massage. If I've been regularly using it then the massage is a lot less painful.
