For a short (5-10 mile round trip) ride is the "trail" between Belmont Park and Southards Pond Park in Babylon area worthwhile? I use quotes because Google Maps calls it a trail but I don't know if it's paved or dirt, what condition it's in, etc.. I'm looking to vary from my usual Massapequa to Bethpage and Cedar Creek to Tobay treks without going too far - trying to take advantage of the late sunsets after work while they last. I work in Farmingdale and live in Queens. Any other suggestions?
