I had an IDENTICAL experience with Competitive Cyclist in 2012.
Bought a carbon Ibis Hakkalugi CX "complete build" which took 22 days to arrive (to Montreal), in parts, the headset wasn't even installed, and when I did start building the bike up I found that there was no fork crown race. So I called them and they ARGUED with me about whether or not I misplaced it. I live in France and only ordered the bike while on vacation in Canada to save import duty and shipping costs. They refused to send me the fork crown race to France without me paying the additional shipping.
Many other small complaints, including a paint chip on the inner seat stay which they told me "you should've taken a picture of it upon receiving it, we can't do anything after you've had it for a week." Granted, maybe that's true and I goofed, but the spoke tension on the wheels was terrible, the saddle had discoloration and loose threads, the seat post was the wrong size and it took TWO MONTHS to do a simple exchange, oh, and no water bottle bolts.
The prices were very good, the customer service experience was terrible.
If you support your LBS, the prices will be terrible, and they will treat you like a king.
It's impossible in this industry to source decent prices and decent customer service. I will never use Competitive Cyclist again.
