I'm looking to get an ultegra 6800 group,Ultegra pedals, conti 4000s tires, and the kool stop brake pads. As far as the wheels, stem and handle bars I'm not to sure which way to go. I will be selling off the parts I take off to recoup my costs.
save up for a new bike and keep your current bike as a commuter/raining/etc bike.
we are not saying the A1 is bad....we are just saying
6800: 800$ (?)
bars/stem/seat post: 300$ at least (for something that isnt a side step)
wheels: easily 300 at least, could be more.
Thats 1400$ into an entry level frame. You can easily find year end sales and get all that PLUS a better frame with the purchase of a new bike for less or a little more (depending on the brand).
I saw cf super six from cannondale were going for 1400 at a shop. That would be a HUGE step up for the same price.
just food for thought
