I am just trying to figure out if I am going to have buyers remorse knowing I could have gotten the 6800 and the color I wanted versus the savings. I know it seems rather petty but it is what it is, I typically have always been of the idea to buy the latest of a model as it will retain the most value. I know that going any higher than a 5.2 is insane for my current riding level, but want to make sure the sacrifice of the new gear set is worth it.
You are way over-analyzing this. The 6700 drivetrain is solid. It is a great bike. Frankly, I think you should wait for the Domane 2.5 with the 11 speed 5800 drivetrain to come out and buy it for less than 2K. Yes, it is alum but it is a great bike and based on your current riding level, I think it would be just fine for you.

Spend more time riding and less time thinking and doing electronic comparisons of groupsets.

BTW, I (for one) prefer the 6700 over the 6800. Stocking up on 6700 parts on ebay now thanks to all the people "upgrading" to the latest and greatest.
