Made an assault to Onyx Summit (elev 8443). From my house it doesn't look that bad with 40 miles away and 7500 elevation gain (okay that does sound bad). Going up I met a 55 year old dude climbs it at least once a week starting from Big Bear descent, and climbs up; 100 miles and probably 15k of climbing. Yeah, he dropped me about halfway up.

After hitting 7k feet, I turned around. My legs felt good but I didn't want to ruin the month because of one ride. I had no idea how close I was to the summit, but it looks like I turned with about 5 miles to go.
