Seems like I might have made a mistake...
the 2, 6 speed cogs are 3/32" thick . a 3/32" chain is aka, (5,6,7) 8 speed . 9 speed and upward chains are thinner..

get an 8 speed chain .. connecting link .. KMC or SRAM.. will be included ..
