But I've never really thought that's a good idea, it's a very uncontrolled situation to be handling an animal in. It sounds like if you were on your feet you wouldn't have been injured.
And if there hadn't been two unleashed dogs it wouldn't have been an issue. I know having unleashed dogs like that is illegal where I live, and riding with a leashed dog is not. I don't know about his area. I ride with my dog frequently - he loves it, I love it. We've never had a problem, but we've never come across an irresponsible ass with unleashed dogs.
