Plus being a heavier rider at 200 pounds before I could get the NRX air-shock had more adjustment. Now the travel distance is cut in half the moment I get on the new Vita spring shock. Plus the ride is different, air shock was progressive with it resistance and with the spring it's constant equal force equates to a rougher ride always.

When I go to buy a road and MTB bike, Trek will not be considered. I will be sure to tell every person I ever meet for the rest of my life how badly this was handled. How I was swindle into a lesser appointed and lower quality equipment than what I had purchased.

Really consider the risk, you have a 0.000224% chance of this breaking and an even lesser chance of being injured. I don't know what I regret more, taking my bike in for recall of buying it at all. Will probably be looking at a Giant Roam 0 or Cannondale Bad Boy commuter next time.
Replacing an air fork with a coil spring fork is a downgrade for sure. Air forks are more adjustable, light, and consequently more expensive.

Sounds like you need a heavier spring for your fork, talk to your dealer about that. I would be very mad if this happened to me
