Only possible advantage of siding with one over the other is chris king has been making GXP BB's for much longer than phil has, phil just started not so long ago this year.
The Chris King GXP BB is not that great, IMO. It is just a Shimano compatible BB with a bunch of spacers and a reducer to make it adaptable to GXP. Look at all these janky plastic spacers you have to install:
Can we all just admit that GXP is a crappy system and that Hollowtech II is a million times superior?
