Since your bike is a 7 speed, you might look at Tourney levers instead of Claris. They are 2x7 and about $100 cheaper:

Amazon.com : Shimano ST-A070 Road Shifters 2 x 7-Speed Black Pair : Bike Shifters And Parts : Sports & Outdoors

They might be able to work with your current derailleurs but you'll need to research that more because the cable pull might be different. Tourney derailleur are cheap though

I am going for a 2x8 setup, I should be good with the travel agents and like nfmisso said, the bike should be good with claris. And a pair of claris shifters are around $100, i think its a good deal. so what I need are the shifters, travel agents for the drivetrain. Also thank you all you helping me out!
