Around here the cities and galleries put on First Friday events where you can walk from place to place and look at all different art and that seems like a good idea in case one gallery isn't a big hit. (We saw an awesome bicycle collection at the Portland Art Museum for free last fall for example.) And there is the Sip 'n' Stroll which combines galleries, walking, and drinking.
