I have done a double metric. Triple metric or double century is essentially the same thing, my club is riding a double century & I signed up with them. It's a notoriously good beginner double century, there is an option that is only 5000 ft of climbing. So it turns it into more of a test of distance, rather than climbing.
In this case I would say cardio is going to be more important to you for this ride. Will you be able to hang in with the group? hopefully, its the length that is going to be your biggest challenge. Since its reduced climbing. draft as much as possible conserve energy whenever you can, and drink a lot of water.
