I can find very little information on the Lygie marque. This bike was purchased by me from Pacific Coast Cycles in Oceanside CA earlier this year. The owner, Chuck has the unique ability to locate old bikes, often from their original owner which was the case here. I was relying heavily on information from him, passed on from the original owner.
The 1960's Lygie shown on Classic Rendezvous is essentially identical to my bike by all I can see with a couple of minor differences in decals and seat post clamp. The frame number is on the side of the seat tube, not the number shown under the bottom bracket. My frame number starts with 68, which possibly confirms the 1968 date of manufacture. On the CR bike the frame number can be seen to start with 66 (presumably meaning 1966). My bike has no numbers stamped under the BB.
