I just picked up a set of Bontrager Race xXx Lite Carbon clinchers yesterday. Only got 22 miles on them today but they seem to be pretty damn nice; incredibly light.

They aren't extremely aero (only 25mm), which I found out today make sthem less susceptible the effects of cross-winds than deeper rims.

Someone mentioned changing brake pads with carbon wheels. The Race xXx Lite carbons come with cork pads (titanium skewers too). I can say from my 1st ride on them today, they are VERY, VERY effective. I learned quickly a much lighter touch on the levers is all that's needed compared to rubber pads and aluminum rims.

The only reason you should change to cork pads with carbon wheels is, if the braking surface on the wheel gets wet the rubber isn't very effective.

Only time will tell regarding their durability. The word on the street is, if they don't crack or split due to some mfg. defect they'll hold up very well over time. We'll see!

Bonti's come with a 3 year warranty vice 1 year for many of the other brand carbons.
