I am looking for some bike advice. I am sorting through a mid 80's Raleigh Pursuit (all original)that has a couple slipping gears and trying to determine the most cost effect approach to have a good ride. I have found a 2009 fantom CX that appears to be original and in good shape for $150. I am mostly riding as a cross training for running and would use the bike on the road 1-2 days per week. Would the CX work acceptably well as a road bike and by more cost effective than replacing the gear set on the Raleigh?
