I'm not sure, but I would be really surprised if even a pretty ballsy descender on a bike was pulling over 1 lateral G. Has anyone here who believes that been in a car that was genuinely doing that kind of lateral acceleration? It's a LOT of intense force working on you... I am not certain that the two teensy weensy contact patches in play here would be able to bring enough grip to the party for that task. Figure you are 175 pounds with bike and gear, your car (normal family car) might be 3500 plus passengers, does anyone know what the contact patch size is for normal pressures for 700x23 or 700x28 etc?
