I bought a low mileage bike of eBay with new 700x23c Conti Gatorskin varients called Duraskin+K. They're the most uncomfortable small cross section "performance" tires I've ridden next to Specialized Armadillos.

I've been riding the older version Grand Prix 700x23c tires for the past 6 or 7 years. I bought 24 for ~$12 ea.on clearance a few years back. I love the way they ride and handle.

One problem is that the sidewalls are pretty fragile. I've damaged a few hitting grooves in the pavement when the tire drops into them.

The other tires that I like are Panaracer Paselas in 700x23c, 700x25c and 700x28c sizes. They have tan sidewalls and a nice smooth ride. The tread compound is a little soft but sticks to the road well, even when wet.

I'm curious about the Continental Grand Prix Classics too. I'll probably try a pair next time I buy some tires.
