I would say the specs on this are not very good at all. I think we can all agree on that. I think the price is going to be $800-1100 for this which would be a bit overpriced considering the low specs, and the fact it is an aluminum frame...not carbon.

As for the agrument as to whether this is a hybrid, I think in general to be a hybrid, it needs to have more tire options, and a different set of brakes to support bigger tires. To me, this CAAD falls into the road category, since it can't support tire sizes over 28mm I'm guessing. And the fact it uses road brakes kind of goes hand in hand with tire size limitations.

This is not a hybrid at all, it is a road bike with flat bars. I know it's an obvious thing to point out, but my bike is more hybrid than this thing...still retains a road geo and can fit 700x42mm tires on my cafe.

The cannondale would be a nice bike if that is what you are looking for, but I feel a hybrid should at least have more flexibility in tire size, and therefore should be using either disc brakes, v brakes, or cantilever brakes.

While the frame might be nice, you are missing out on being able to size bigger tires, which is a big advantage of a hybrid. At the same time, you also lose the hoods with the flat bar, and the drops for a more aero position that is found in a standard road bike. Basically you are getting the worst of both of worlds.
