I also saw the riders down near Las Pulgas and as we rode up into Camp Pendelton saw an ambulance on the way. It was a nice day and a good ride, my first century. With so many riders it was a bit crazy in areas where a lot of us were together, especially dealing with afternoon auto traffic in the city of San Diego. Some of the intersections were less than ideal and drivers were a bit overwhelmed dealing with large groups.

It got pretty hot about 1/2 way up Torrey Pines grade, but I felt good, was well hydrated and had no trouble with it. And the popsicle at the top really hit the spot. Seemed like they were frozen close to absolute zero they were so cold. OCW did an impressive job organizing all the moving parts. Train rolled into Irvine about 6:30, exactly 12 hours after I started the ride.
