Toxicity aside, I've used both OA and Evaporust at various times. I no longer use OA. It's cheap and works pretty well. Evaporust costs more, is worth more, and gives much better results. Compared to the other money many of us spend on bike stuff, the cost of an occasional gallon of Evaporust doesn't amount to much. There's just no contest that I can see.
...you are posting this in the same forum where I have personally seen people advocate using grease
rather than anti-seize compound on bicycles because of "the cost difference."
