for now
ride the bike as is
every time you swear about having to reach down to your shifters
a dollar in the swear jar

if it really is a problem
youll have enough for a new
or preferably used but newer
bike in no time

if it isn't really a problem
save up enough to get bar end shifters
or bar end pods that will work with your current shifters
and be retro cool
instead of just retro
