I was on the trail at the lake 2 nights ago. I came upon an older lady with a young boy, maybe 5, holding hands. Several yards up ahead was a young girl, maybe 7. In no way was she close enough for the adult to be in control of her.

I slowed down behind them as I normally do and announced, "Evening, coming by." The older lady turned her head, smiled at me and I said thanks. I slowly pedaled past and as I came up closer to the girl, she heard me and turned around and looked at me with her pretty blue eyes and pretty golden blond hair waving around. I said "Hi, just passing by" and smiled back at her. She just said, "Ok."

Upon returning back to the car, I am coming back up behind the same older lady and the boy. I announced, "It's me again, coming by again" in which she turned and smiled again. At that point, I noticed there was no girl ahead and commented, "What happened? Did you lose one in the lake?" She laughed and said, "No, she's up ahead with Grandpa." I rounded the next turn and there was Grandpa standing with his bike and the cute little girl looking at some flowers. I said and waved hi and smiled at the little girl as I rode past.

Amazing, no control over that little girl and in no way was I in danger from her jumping at me and knocking me off my bike....
