What are you riding that is flawless and modern?
How is your BB fitted to the frame?
Did you cut your own fork stem, was it carbon, what did that look like after the correct length?
Have you ridden both Campy Super record and Dura-Ace for several years through many upgrade iterations and why do you prefer Campy?
From one Engineer to another, lets try and keep this intellectual rather than getting personal. Or did I touch a nerve somewhere, or this just your personality?
Nothing personal....to me night and day comparing current carbon versus old steel stuff. Btw, I am 60 y.o. and owned more old stuff than you guys have. So if anything I should have some bias toward the old stuff but it is no different than the other tech you referenced. New bikes are also utterly reliable. Yes, I build my bikes, worked on hundreds of BB's in every variety old to new, I do cut a perfect carbon steerer including finish polish the edge...ridden every year of DA, old Campy back to friction shifters.
I am on a '12 Roubaix with Campy...my bike of choice.
I wouldn't own an old steel bike with early groupset, square taper BB etc. Lots of love for them here however...the 41 is overrun with steel lovers.
