And just a follow up example:
We spent a week in Savannah, GA, last year, and my wife loved it. She would list all of the perks over any Northern city. And though I thought it was beautiful and has great parks and outdoor living, it's history hangs around it's neck like an albatross. It was depressing to me, as the beauty is built on the backs of human suffering. I would never get past that living there.
How do things like that fold into a livability index?
Plus there's lots of mosquitoes.
